A native of Nashville, Kennetha and her family were displaced from the the Park at Hillside apartment complex in early 2016. Kennetha became an active participant in the struggle for fair housing and economic justice through her volunteer efforts with HomesForAll and her own family support non-profit, VisionHeirs Inc. She, along with a handful of other residents were instrumental in pushing a public/private partnership to include 58 units of affordable housing in an upcoming development in the Edgehill neighborhood. She was a founding SC member of Homes For All Nashville, helped jumpstart the organizing efforts at the Park at Hillside apartments and contributed to the I’ve Been Displaced in 615 media campaign. She has over 7 years experience in communications, is a natural organizer and is a trusted voice in the community.
Lauren Plummer has worked with Open Table Nashville for the last six years as a street outreach worker and housing navigator, helping homeless folks access housing programs, caring community, and other support resources. Lauren volunteers with Homes For All because she sees everyday how hard it is to find and keep affordable housing in the face of rapid gentrification -- especially for working class and low income folks who are hit the hardest. She also works with Nashville Homeless Organizing Coalition among those who are fighting criminalization in the streets and pushing for accessible low income housing development.
